# Glossary

**🏢 Storage Providers (SPs)**

* Storage Providers that offer storage services to data clients. Different SPs are likely to have different strengths, e.g. faster retrievals, lower prices, etc.

**⚪ Data Clients**

* Individuals or enterprises that need to store their data.

**🔷 DAO members / Validators**

* Category of metric-collecting entities such as Validation Bots, Autoretrieve, etc. They are the members of the DAO.

**⬛ Reputation Database**

* Shared data store that contains insights about SPs
* Unbiased raw data store

**⭐ Reputation Services**

* Downstream customers of the DAO. They are the entities that ingest the raw data collected by the DAO and make use of it.
* They could build simple dashboards for data clients to self-serve. Or they could be white-gloving services that handhold the client by choosing SPs based on the client’s preference.
* They could also be complex products such as insurance. With smart contracts on the FVM, they can implement logic like if an SP falls below 90% retrievability, the insurance will compensate for the data client’s loss.

**🪙 Reputation Tokens**

* Native DAO token that Validators earn for contributing to the DAO.
* Reputation Services spend this token to consume data from the Reputation Database.
* DAO members stake this token to gain voting power on future changes to the DAO.
